Live Your Life

Rejection?

Today is Father’s Day…which should be Fathers’ Day.  Anyway, I hate Father’s Day—like most any celebratory day.  For me, such days are societal obligations that hold no meaning for me.  I find them to be forced and worthless.  Certainly there are reasons to celebrate things like Father’s Day, but some children have no father, others take fathers for granted, and some fathers don’t deserve a day in their name.  I do, however, acknowledge that there are people that deserve more praise and celebration than one day a year.

As a tangent pops in to my head why isn’t it just parental day? Parental unit(s) need not be of different sexes nor do their numbers need be greater than one.  So why separate days for different sexes?

Back to my point, I don’t like forced celebrations.  Of course, my real intention here is to discuss why I seem to reject my “family” (defined as the ones that raised me and whatever blood ties go with that).  Assuming this concept is not out of the ordinary—how does one deal with such an issue.  It’s not like I think my “family”  is made of bad, evil people; I just don’t want to be associated with them…except for the monetary gains I stand to receive some day.  Hmm…I haven’t thought this all out yet.  Nevermind, let’s move on to another topic.

No, forget it, my thoughts are all jumbled.  Fact of the matter is: I think my Dad is socially inept, my mom needs to get over me, and I want their money.  However, I also watch television in order to feel some sense of family.  Crap.  I love television though….  :)

Live Your Life Live your life or die trying. That sounded a little depressing, if you read it a certain way. Oh well.
